 I am selling my Prout Escale Catamaran which is in very good condition. Plans have changed and we will be spending more time on land.

She is currently due in the Canary Islands. The yacht is fully equipped and ready to sail.

Prouts have a long track record in catamaran production and their yachts have a very good reputation as sea-worthy cuising catamarans. The Escale catamaran is a large spacious vessel at the top end of the Prout range.

This catamaran has a large saloon with seating for 8-10 around the wood dining table, a large galley with 2.5 sinks, oven, hob etc. It has 2 rear double cabins both en-suite (one with shower) and a large single forward.

Built by Prout in 1993. Two previous owners. GRP and epoxied from new.

Accommodation

Spacious saloon with large U shaped settee with central table which lowers to convert into a large bed. Forward of the seating area is an athwartships double berth (the playpen). Port and starboard aft hulls both with double berth cabins, large storage under berths. Both cabins are en-suite, starboard side also has its own shower. Central port hull with freezer compartment with low voltage plate freezer, chart table area and masses of storage. Forward port hull with large moulded heads + shower compartment. Sea water toilet, washbasin, shower, store compartment at forward end. Starboard central hull with galley. 3 burner gas blob. oven with grill. front door fridge, 2 & 1/2 bowl sinks, very large worksurface and again masses of storage. Forward stbd hull with single berth which has also been converted into a formidable workshop with workbench, vice, storage bins etc.

Navigational Aids

In the cockpit: Suunto compass, VHF speaker, B & G Network GPS, autopilot, At chart table: B & G Network Nav, data. Navico VHF. Yeoman plotter, Simrad CX44 radar/plotter (2006) with charts for all of europe (2009) Illuminated switchboard.

Engines and Tankage

Yanmar 3 cylinder diesel developing 38HP with a Sillette drive leg and 3 bladed propeller. 3 x 12V 105 Ah house batteries (2009) charged by engine alternator, solar panels (3 x BP Solar 80W panels, 2009/2006) , 20A smart mains charger. Rutland wind generator, equipment and brake. Wired for 240V shorepower with a ring main throughout the boat and RCD. Inverter, 140 ltrs diesel. Port and starboard in hull water tanks total 700 ltrs. Stainless steel holding tank. Calorifier with immersion heater, pressurised water systems with 4 electric pumps, 2 manual water pumps and 1 salt water pump to galley.

Sails and Spars

Alloy mast and boom with new stainless steel standing rigging. Fully battened main, genoa (both valeted 2007) staysail, cruising shute with snuffer. Packaway system (2007), lazy jacks. Profiler reefing system to both foresails, the staysail reefer new 2006. Anderson sheet winches.

Equipment

Main Spade anchor with 30m chain and 30m anchor warp, CQR anchor with 10m chain. Lofrans Royal manual windlass (2006), 2 bow rollers. 1 stern roller. Seago 8 man offshore liferaft (2009), Danbuoy, 2 horseshoe lifebuoys, 5 manual bilge pumps. Emergency tiller. 3 fire extinguishers, fire blanket, 8 fenders, various warps. 2 fixed stainless steel ladders on each aft hull. boathook, Full set cockpit cushions (2006). helmsman pedestal seat with cover, sprayhood, inflatable RIB with aluminium bottom, oars, pump etc (2006) RIB cover, stainless steel gantry acting as davits and stow for wind gen. and solar panels. Adjustable cockpit table. Masthead lights replaced with LED bulbs (2009).

Remarks

This catamaran is a credit to her owners and is presented in first class order. The boat has had a very expensive refit recently (2007) including such things as new saloon windows, new hatch glass etc etc. The hull of the catamaran epoxied from new and is dry and osmosis free. Viewing is highly recommended
